The output presentation: a new spin on B2B marketing

As the deadline approaches and we pull all of our thinking into a big, multi-tiered presentation.

This consists of our:

  • ideas
  • recommendations
  • positioning statements
  • messages
  • rough creative
  • …and really rather cool tactics

We present to everyone who has a say in the marketing in a single meeting of, say, 3-4 hours.

It’s invariably a fun, exciting meeting with lots of ideas and energy flying around.  Not your standard B2B marketing fare.

At this point, we harvest as much of the first reactions of the team as we can, recognising that they are just that: first reactions.

We also ask the team to get back to us with a more considered response so that we can improve our work and deliver final drafts.

What makes for a successful presentation discussion?

  • Making sure all the key people are there, together
  • Open minds
  • Complete honesty – we’re grown-ups, we can take it
  • An understanding of the goals of the engagement

And once we’ve nailed it we go….

On to market, to market..!
